Most hockey fans recognize Fred Shero as one of hockey’s greatest coaches, but I don’t think many realize just how much of an impact he had. “The Fog” was the first coach to review film in preparation for opponents, and was one of the early proponents of the morning skate. He was also one of the first few North American hockey figures to observe and appreciate the Soviet styles of playing and conditioning. The man really reinvented the wheel.
The more ya know, the better.
