Cool Fact of the Week 5/12/13 – 5/18/13

Hey, guys. This post marks a break in my hiatus, though my uploading might be more sporadic and erratic than usual. Finals and such make working on the site difficult. This fact is about childhood friends who were meant to be teammates.

Vincent Lecavalier and Brad Richards first became friends in boarding school at the ages of 14, both playing for Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Saskatchewan’s very successful varsity team, the Hounds. After this, they played in the Q together, as well, with Rimouski Oceanic, and were both drafted by Tampa Bay. In fact, Lecavalier suggested to the Lightning’s management that they draft Richards to give the struggling franchise a boost. It’s all in who you know.
